2015...

Posted January 13, 2015

The year 2015 will be a crucial one for music, for the artists and for the music business. Times are changing more and more quickly, and we all need to adapt, find new solutions, make new connections while pursuing our various musical passions. In France, like in many other countries, independent record companies and distributors are struggling, music publishers need to adapt to new systems at our SACEM society and need to try and make up for missing support for artists/authors/composers elsewhere; giving artistic advice, creating connections with other musicians, helping to find labels and... more

On the cusp

Posted December 31, 2007

Looking back on 2007 might be a good way to start the new year. It has been a pretty exciting one, and a pretty exhausting one, too. With the music industry structures changing, there are a lot of gaps to be filled for the artists – while the freedom of the new media make them enthuse, the lack of professionalism in the business does not help them to find their path, not necessarily creatively, but in terms of their careers. La rentrée...

Posted July 30, 2007

Means ” The homecoming ”, the ” back to work ” stumbling block after the holidays, in other words, the most busy period of the year in France, in the commercial context, the period from September to December. It augurs well for our artists and activities, here at Métisse Music, where we are trying to prepare the activities that will take place, in the best way we can, while the telephone is still quiet. We are celebrating the return of Harold Budd to the fold. Harold’s work was part of Brian Eno’s Opal Music catalogue, which we have been representing, and ... more
